Megastar Mammootty is basking in the glory of his recent blockbusters, Yatra and Peranbu. The actor has received applauses for his power-packed performance in both movies.

As per latest updates, the actor is geared for his next major film. Titled Ameer, the actor will portray a dreaded underworld don based in Dubai. The movie will be directed by noted filmmaker Vinod Vijayan. Noted Malayalam scriptwriter Haneef Adeni, who had penned scripts of The Great Father and Abrahaminte Santhathikal has been roped in for the project.

After his entertainer Madhuraraja, Mammootty will start shooting of his upcoming period movie, Maamaankam. The war movie will narrates the heroic deeds of legendary fighters of Malabar.

Award winning Malayalam director TV Chandran's upcoming film, Pengalila is all set to hit screens on March 8. The movie narrates the unequivocal love between a landlord's daughter and his worker.

Popular Malayalam actor Lal plays a 60-year-old landless labourer named Azhagan in the movie. Its poster was rleased on Monday by mega star Mammootty, who played lead roles in the director's critically acclaimed film, Ponthanmada.

The film is bankrolled by Benazir and Vishnu Mohan Sithara is its music composer. Narain, Ranji Panicker, Indrans, Iniya, Basil Paulose, Thirunal, Naushad, Priyanka Nair, Neethu Chandran, Ambili Sunil, Sheela Sasi, Marina Michael, among others play important roles in the much-awaited film. 

Noted Malayalam actor Anoop Menon is debuting as director through upcoming flick King Fish. The makers have recently released its poster featuring the actor and popular director Ranjith. The much awaited movie portrays the relationship between a modern-era king and his nephew. As per reports, Ranjith plays the king named Bhaskara Varma and Anoop his nephew in it.

The poster shows the duo enjoying a melodious session of music at their home. Durga Krishna, Niranjana Anoop and NP Nisa will be the heroines of this much awaited movie, added reports. Ranjith was last seen in Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nazriya starrer, Koode, which was released last year. He played prithvi's father in the film.

After the massive hit of Petta, Superstar Rajinikanth is on a break with the big cameras and has been busy with his personal life and also have made some important political decisions as well.

Rajinikanth will soon be teaming up one of India's ace director AR Murugadoss for an intriguing venture and the whole K-town is eagerly waiting for the official announcement of the said Thalaivar 166. Earlier, veteran cinematographer Santhosh Sivan confirmed that he will be joining hands with Rajinikanth for AR Murugadoss's project after almost 28 years.

And now, we have another important confirmation about the big project. It has been in the air that rockstar Anirudh is the front runner to take the slot as the musician for the movie and now the star himself has come out with the confirmation. Speaking to a notable media, Anirudh hinted that Shankar's Indian 2 and Murugadoss's project are the two big ones that he is currently working on. Notably, Anirudh gave a chartbuster album Petta recently when he joined with Rajinikanth for the first time.

With the names being confirmed one by one, Thalaivar 166 has started to take shape and some more surprise names could be expected in the coming days. The biggie is likely to be produced by Lyca Productions and they looking to rope in the lady superstar Nayanthara as the lady lead for the venture.

Shalini wife of Thala Ajith, was a famous actress herself before marrying Thala. The star couple fell in love on the sets of Amarkalam in 1999 and married eventually. Shalini after her wedding didn’t commit to any movies and concentrated on family.

After marriage, Shalini concentrated on badminton and played few state-level tournaments. Thala Ajith in the professional front is currently shooting for Thala 59 an official remake of Pink and it is bankrolled by Boney Kapoor.

Petta, released as a Pongal treat last month has turned out to become yet another massive hit in 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's glorious career. A dream come true project for director Karthik Subbaraj, who incidentally is a hardcore 'Superstar' Rajinikanth fan, the film satisfied 'Thalaivar' fans across all ages.

A multi-starrer, Petta, also included Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, Sasikumar, Mahendran among others under the Sun Pictures banner with Anirudh Ravichander dishing out chartbuster songs.

Along with the film, the music album was also an instant hit and the audiences were enthralled to witness the vintage Rajinikanth onscreen after a long time. With this project being celebrated, recently the 25-day celebrations were attended by Karthik Subbaraj and Anirudh marking it a grand event.

Now, the happy news for Rajini fans is that today (28.02.2019) marks the 50th day of the film's theatrical run with celebrations planned at the Albert Theatre in Chennai with Karthik Subbaraj and Anirudh expected to grace the occasion.

The marana mass celebrations of Petta 50th day is set to begin at around 2 PM with many Rajinified moments expected to be witnessed.

Sai Pallavi is a sensation for sure who enjoys a huge fan base, especially among the youngsters. Her debut film, Premam took her to the big league in Tollywood. After making her debut in Tamil with Vijay's Diya, Pallavi went onto sign films opposite Dhanush and Suriya. While Maari 2 has already come out, NGK is yet to be released.

However, when we checked with our sources close to Sai Pallavi, they vehemently denied this development. They also added that Pooja is currently pursuing her studies and her focus is not on cinema. The rumours were labelled to be fake and baseless.

Pooja was also seen in a short film titled Kaara, that released on YouTube, last year. Kaara fetched good reviews from the audience, especially for her role and performance.

Kollywood's leading comedian Yogi Babu is currently busy with multiple projects and has been working around the clock. Big films like Nayanthara's Airaa, Sivakarthikeya's Mr.Local are gearing up for releases and will also be seen as a lead hero in the movies Watchman and Dharmaprabhu.

The talented comedian is also a part of Thalapathy Vijay's 63rd venture that is being directed by Atlee. The shoot of the venture has been happening in and around Chennai for the past month and the comedian has also been a part of the schedule. In a recent interview to a notable media, Yogi Babu has opened up about Thalapathy 63 and revealed about his role in the movie.

"It is a good role. All my three movies with Vijay was a good one. Sarkar had an important role for me. I did not have much screen space but my role is the key to the whole movie. Atlee once told me that I was missed out during Theri but will definitely do a movie where I will travel throughout the movie and now it has happened as he insisted. I will be traveling throughout the film and will be a fun one. 'Indha Deepavali Vera Maari Irukum.. Vedi.. '

Thalapathy 63 already has a huge expectation as it is the third outing for the combo of Vijay and Atlee. The movie has Nayantara as the lady lead along with Vivek, Kathir, Daniel Balaji, Anandraj in important roles. The venture has AR Rahman as the musician and the team looking has set Diwali 2019 as the big day of release.

After the blockbuster success of Petta, Superstar Rajinikanth's 166th movie is set to be directed by the acclaimed director AR Murugadoss. Veteran cinematographer Santhosh Sivan will be handling the camera and rockstar Anirudh recently confirmed that he will be scoring the music for the film.

Earlier, we had reported that the popular comedian Yogi Babu has been roped in as the comedian in the venture. And now, the comedian himself has spoken about the venture with Rajinikanth.

In an interview to a popular media, Yogi Babu said,

"Murugadoss had already spoken to me about the project and talks are going on. Yet to confirm the schedule and will finish it soon. Rajinikanth is the biggest star in the industry and it is indeed a happy thing to act alongside him."

Thalaivar 166 is likely to be made under the banner of Lyca Productions and Rajinikanth is touted to be playing dual roles in the movie. An official announcement on the project is expected to be made soon and the team looking to go on floors from Aprill.

Upsetting all predictions, Jayasurya bagged the Best Actor Award at the 49th Kerala State Film Awards. The actor played the role of a transgender in Njan Marykutty and lead role in Captain. Mollywood celebrities are heaping praises on the actor on this occasion.

The State award for Jayasurya completely acknowedges the hardwork of the talented actor, says noted film still photographer Mahadevan Thampi. On the sets, the actor underwent a complete transformation to play his character Marykutty, revealed Thampi.

He began preparation even before three months for the movie, added Thampi. Thampi shared on his Facebook page that he is fortunate to be part of the movie. He wished the award would help the actor to achieve more succcess in future. Thampi had worked with the actor in a number of important films.

 Popular Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan received rave reviews for his performance in Mahanati starrying Keerthy Suresh. He played the role of legendary actor Gemini Ganesan in the much appreciated biopic.

Solo was Dulquer Salmaan's last Malayalam movie. Now, the actor is geared up for his next titled Oru Yamandan Premakadha. The movie will be released on March 25, as reports. The film's first look will be released on Friday, say updates. The movie is directed by B.C. Noufal and scripted by Bibin George and Vishnu Unnikrishnan. The main actors include Soubin Shahir, Samyuktha Menon and Nikhila Vimal.

The film's supporting cast consists of Dharmajan Bolgatty, Salim Kumar, Ramesh Pisharady among others. Said to be a comic entertainer Nadirshah has set music for the film.

Oru Adaar Love is a Malayalam romantic comedy film that has made waves on social media which is directed by Omar Lulu. The film hit the big screens a few weeks back and the fans are finally happy to see Priya Varrier on the big screens. The film gained national attention after a clip from the movie went viral shooting Priya Prakash Varrier to the stars resulting the makers to dub the film in multiple languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada. 

The makers have now released a new video song from the film titled Munnalea Ponalea which is a romantic song venturing both Priya and Roshan along with a lovely rain sequence of both of them dancing.

Soubin Shahir has bagged the best actor award at the 49th Kerala State Film Awards which was announced recently. The actor received the award for his performance in the hilarious comedy flick, Sudani From Nigeria.

Soubin was last seen in Fahadh Faasil-starrer family comedy entertainer, Kumbalangi Nights. The team has congratulated Soubin for winning the prestigious award and posted a hilarious comedy scene from the movie featuring the verdatile actor. "Congratulations Soubin Shahir on bagging the Kerala State Award 2019 for Sudani From Nigeria. Celebrations All Arround," shared the team on their Facebook page.

Soubin played the character Saji Napolean, the elder brother of main protaganist, Boby (Shane Nigam) in Kumbalangi Nights. He  played his part comfortably and received rave reviews for his acting in the movie. Kumbalangi Nights, which featured mostly newcomers, has emerged the top grossing Malayalam film of the year. 

Jayasurya received the best actor award at the 49th Kerala State Film Awards for his performance in Captain and Njan Marykutty. He portrayed the real-life character of legandary Indian footballer VP Sathyan in the biopic. Sathyan was a former captain of the Indian football team.

Directed by Prajesh Sen, the movie narrated the ups and down in the footballer's life. It was a huge challenge to portray the footballer, shared Jayasurya about the movie. It took the team nearly three months to prepare for the movie and another two months for shooting, said Jayasurya adding that initially he had no idea about VP Sathyan.

Jayasurya said, he tried to transorm into the character completely and even used to wear Sathyan's coat and belt during shooting. 

Malayalam movie Sudani From Nigeria received five awards at the 49th Kerala State Film Awards including the Best Actor award bagged by Soubin Shahir. The movie starring Soubin Shahir and Samuel Abiola Robinson in lead roles, narrated the life of a Nigerian football player who comes to Kerala to try his luck in local tournaments.

Now the makers of the film have decided to give away the cash prizes of five awardees to help a Tamil Nadu youth named Hareesh. Hareesh lost both his legs in a tragic road accident decades ago. A documentary titled 'In His Pursuit' brought the plight of Hareesh to the audience.

Now contributions are now pouring in for his surgery. Hareesh wanted to become a football player, and the producers, Shyju Khalid and Sameer Thahir have decided to support him. 

Popular Malayalam actor Dileep's Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakkeel has evoked good response in theatres. The movie saw the talented actor comfortably essaying a lawyer who stammers. There were also reports about the film's Bollywood remake recently.

Its director B Unnikrishnan had already started negoatiations with Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar for the Bollywood remake, claimed the reports. However, putting an end to all speculations, B Unnikrishnan has clarified that he has no plans for its Bollywood remake.

"Want to clarify:haven’t said anywhere KSBV is getting remade with two Bollywood superstars playing the lead, though talks are very much on for remaking the film in other languages," posted the noted director on Friday on his Twitter profile.
